PRAIRIEMAP: A GIS database for prairie grassland habitats and associated wildlife in the North American Mid-West

Introduction
The purpose of Prairiemap is to identify and collect spatial data layers needed for research and management of prairie grassland ecosystems. These datasets can be queried, viewed, and downloaded from our FTP site, and can be used to identify factors that influence prairie wildlife and plant species. The data can also be used to help guide management efforts and decision-making processes for listing of endemic species, such as lesser prairie-chickens (Tympanuchus pallidicinctus), as Threatened or Endangered.
